Bug #4
Not recognized under Growl 1.2 beta on Snow Leopard
100%
Description
I've just upgraded to Snow Leopard and moved to the 1.2 beta of Growl to get GrowlMail working. Unfortunately this setup does not see ITTSW.growlView as an available display type. I've so come to love this display type and miss it terribly now that it's not available.
I'm hopeful that this will be an easy fix and I'm very happy to test this for you.
Thanks!
Tom

I'm hoping that reconfiguring the project to build 32/64-bit universal should fix this problem. I will post an updated build soon.

Just checking in as Growl 1.2 has been released and it does not show as a display type under the release version either.
Thanks!

Hey,
Wanted to check in and see if this was going to be worked on. I sure miss it now that I'm on SnowLeopard.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, simply compiling GrowlITTSW as 32/64-bit Universal does not yet fix the problem, as there is a bug in ITKit when used in 64-bit that causes problems with the text and icon rendering in the status windows. However, this problem does not exist when run in 32-bit, so a temporary fix is possible after installing the latest version of ITTSW.growlView (>= 1.0.1b1):
- Open Growl preferences, and stop Growl from running.
- Locate Growl.prefPane, which is by default installed at /Library/PreferencePanes, right click it (or hold down the Option key and click it), and choose "Show Package Contents".
- Navigate to Contents/Resources, get info on GrowlHelperApp.app (either by right clicking, or by going to the File menu, and choosing "Get Info"), and enable the "Open in 32-bit mode" option.
- Open Growl preferences, and start Growl up again.

Resolved by 07f90614fc21d5fc9f45af97d9e6bce86c6115b1. The latest version of ITTSW.growlView (>= 1.0.1) no longer has this problem.
GrowlITTSW now builds 32/64-bit Universal. Unfortunately, due to ITKit
bug #5, GrowlITTSW bug #4 is not yet resolved as 64-bit users will not
have status windows with correctly rendered text.
